Skills Bootcamps in London

Skills bootcamp are courses that allow you to build sector-specific skills quickly and get a guaranteed interview with a local employer. These courses are co-designed and delivered with employers, further education providers, and local government, ensuring curriculum relevance and direct links to hiring opportunities.

They are 100% funded by the Skills For Life campaign, meaning there is no cost to the learner. They are free for eligible Londoners aged 19+ or co-funded for employers looking to upskill staff.

To be eligible for a free place, you must: 

– Live in Greater London (check your postcode here)

– Have been fully resident in England for 3 years (more information and exceptions here)

– Be aged 19 or older, on or before 31 August 2025

– Be able to commit to the course full-time (8.30 – 17.00 Monday to Friday)

– Pass the Northcoders Entry Challenge

– Not have already been in similar formal education or employment, as the bootcamp needs to be new learning

– Look for a job directly after graduating and have unrestricted Right to Work in the UK

– Not have joined another Skills Bootcamp within this financial year

This is a beginner-friendly, 13-week, intensive full-time programme to prepare you for junior software engineering roles.

It focuses on core programming principles, object oriented programming, and enterprise engineering practices that apply across languages such as C#. Rather than teaching a single language in isolation, the bootcamp develops transferable skills used in real software teams.

This bootcamp is equivalent to a level 4 qualification.

It includes:

– Live Training: Interactive online sessions led by industry experts

– One-to-One Mentoring: Regular check-ins and feedback to keep you on track

– Job-Focused Curriculum: Hands-on projects that map directly to real-world employer needs

– Career Support: Tailored support to secure your first tech job, including a guaranteed job interview

Format & Schedule: 

– 13 weeks (Please note, the March cohort spans 14 weeks to make up for bank holidays)

– Full-time (08:30–17:00, Monday–Friday)

– Hybrid: a mix of live online teaching, so you can learn from home anywhere in London, and of a total of 45 hours of in-person sessions at our central London campus (at Ilona Rose House, Manette St, London W1D 4AL).

No prior coding experience is required.

The programme is designed for beginners and career changers. What matters most is your motivation, commitment, and readiness to learn. All applicants go through a screening process to ensure the bootcamp is the right fit.

Please note, you will need your own Windows computer. This course is not compatible with Mac or Linux.

Graduates typically move into roles such as:

• Junior Software Engineer
• Graduate Developer
• Backend Engineer
• Associate Full Stack Developer

The skills you learn are designed to support long term progression in enterprise engineering roles.

3. Check your email for an invitation to register on our learning platform. There, you’ll begin with JavaScript Basics & Practice Challenges.

4. After completing those challenges, you’ll book an Entry Challenge: a call with a tutor to help us understand your problem-solving approach and readiness for the course.
