How did you find your time on the bootcamp?
It was packed with information that was delivered at a fast, engaging pace. I was never bored. Given the choice to go back in time, I’d do it again but sooner.
What were you doing before the bootcamp?
I was a healthcare assistant.
What made you interested in moving into tech?
I really enjoyed my job but it wasn’t challenging me in the aspects I wanted to be challenged in, I thought tech would give my problem solving side what it needed
What made you choose Northcoders?
A lot of my family and friends had done it and were successful and actually enjoyed being there.
What was the support like on the course?
It was amazing, we were left to try it alone but we were still supported to find our own way. Once we hit a wall we were given the tools and knowledge needed to go over it
What support did you receive from Northcoders with your job search?
We had Darren and Sarah who were amazing. Darren checked up on us and was very transparent about what was needed and expected from us from an objective employer’s side.
What advice would you give to anyone thinking about applying?
Do it, it’s never too late (or early) to try something new. Don’t let the fear that you don’t know anything stop you, time will still pass, give it a try. Worst case scenario, you know you don’t enjoy tech you can try something else.
