Tech Stack
We used: TypeScript, React Native with Expo, Firebase, Tamagui, MapLibre Our tech stack was chosen as the app is best suited to a mobile app but would also be useful on web. We considered many options but settled on these as this gave the most streamlined development experience for a project with a relatively short deadline.
Challenges Faced
Our biggest challenge was spiking a free map framework which worked in both app and web and met our requirements. Finding a free API which returned car parking information was a challenge that we did not overcome, deciding instead to generate some of this data ourselves and plan for how to populate the rest of the data in the future.
