Hi there, can you introduce yourself?
My name is Sebastian and I was on the Jan-April 2024 Northcoders cohort.
What job role have you secured?
I currently work as a junior software developer for TTS360 developing software solutions and web apps using C#, JavaScript and SQL. I am enjoying my current role.
What were you doing before the bootcamp?
Before the bootcamp, I was working in retail whilst applying for software related roles which was giving me no luck. This was why I researched software bootcamps to give me more skills and industry knowledge to aid me landing my first role, and then I came across Northcoders.
How did you find your time on the bootcamp?
I enjoyed my time on the bootcamp and thought it was very well constructed, though a bit stressful at some points since it was quite an intensive course. But overall it was very beneficial and prepared me well for my current role.
The support during the course was great and everyone who I asked questions were enthusiastic in helping me out.
What advice would you give to anyone thinking about applying?
To anyone applying, be prepared to get stuck in straight away and really try to understand the basics which they teach first. Each day follows directly from the next and content builds up very quickly so it’s important you fully understand things before you move on. And don’t be afraid to ask even the most basic questions in front of everyone in the lessons.
