An app to put your geography knowledge to the test
Our app was created out of a group love of games, which was eventually narrowed down to an achievable goal which was a multiple choice Geography app with high replay-ability. The user has the ability to create an account, earn in-game currency through playing the game, which can be spent on loot-boxes to enhance the player-experience via different cosmetics. When playing the game the user is presented with a question, which they have 10 seconds to answer, with a limited amount of life-lines to help them get as higher streak as possible. Their best score will appear on a global leader board.

not making little apps for my own amusement, I’m probably outside running or walking an absurdly long distance, or at my local rescue shelter looking after vulnerable animals. Currently in a committed relationship with console.log()… and my wife.

as a Barista Maestro, bringing strong teamwork, leadership, and communication skills into the tech world. Recently completed an intensive, project-based bootcamp with Northcoders, where I built full-stack applications from scratch — both solo and as part of a team. Comfortable working across the stack using JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Next.js, Node.js, Prisma, PostgreSQL, Supabase, and Tailwind CSS. I’m passionate about problem-solving, writing clean and efficient code, and constantly learning to improve my craft. Always driven by curiosity and creativity, I enjoy building applications that are both functional and user-focused.

real-world background in care work and the kind of perseverance you can’t fake. After overcoming long-term health challenges — including cystic fibrosis — I found clarity, drive, and a deep love for tech. I’m early in my journey, and this is only my second project, but I’m already building full-stack applications using JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Node.js, PostgreSQL, Prisma, Supabase, and Next.js. I’m constantly learning, refining, and pushing my projects further — always focused on real impact and user experience.

Tech Stack

We used: Tailwind, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Node.js, PostgreSQL, Prisma, Supabase, and Next.js We researched which technologies that weren’t familiar to us worked well with our foundational knowledge of Javascript, React and PostgreSQL. After discussion we decided that next.js was a nice alternative to express to have everything in one repo. And that Tailwind would be a nice styling alternative to CSS.
Challenges Faced
Spiking the new technologies in such a short space of time was tough. And linking Supabase to Prisma took a lot of debugging time.
