Amara is currently studying on the March 2026 cohort of Northcoders’ Enterprise Engineering bootcamp. He shares his thoughts about his experience on the course.
- What were you doing before the course?
Before this course, I was a computer science graduate and looking for a way to break into the software developer market while simultaneously trying to develop my skills and portfolio with projects. Personally I think there’s only so far you can go on your own, without having prior experience so at times it felt like I was going nowhere.
- What made you interested in Northcoders?
Initially the opportunity to learn the vital parts of being a software developer with the most demanded technology in the market was too good to pass up, especially because it was free under a funding scheme (Greater London Authority funding for London residents). Furthermore, they help you advance in your career after you graduate which is really helpful.
- What do you think of the course so far?
The course is very fast paced but engaging. The content is always relevant and is always challenging us to learn through a simulated work-like experience. Every topic is treated as a sprint in which most are tackled in partners they assign. Additionally, if at any point you need help there’s always someone you can talk to whether it’s a mentor or the safeguarding team.
