Student Projects – No Milk

Made by Team Hire us

When the world needed milk most, it vanished

Our goal was to create a solution that helps people streamline meal preparation and shopping processes. We built an app that tracks meal planning and manages kitchen inventory efficiently. The idea was simple yet scalable, with potential for future feature expansion. Our app enables users to plan meals for the next week, adding, editing, or deleting meals as needed. Users can browse recipes and schedule them for specific days and times. The app allows tracking pantry inventory with expiry dates and quantities. When checking a recipe, users instantly see missing ingredients and can add them to the shopping list with one click. After grocery shopping, users can easily transfer items from the shopping list to the pantry.

Hi there! I’m Shah, a passionate junior software developer.

Building my first full-stack project from scratch has been an exciting journey, and I’m proud of how far I’ve come. Our goal was to create something efficient and user-friendly, and through this project, I’ve had the chance to dive into a variety of programming languages and technologies. I’m always looking to improve my skills and explore new tools and frameworks that help me write clean, maintainable code. Collaboration is something I really enjoy, whether it’s working with fellow developers, entrepreneurs, or anyone else who’s passionate about tech.

Tech Stack

Tech Stack for this group

We used: TypeScript, React Native with Expo, Firebase, NativeWind React Native with Expo was ideal for cross-platform mobile development, allowing us to build for both iOS and Android simultaneously with a single codebase. TypeScript added strong typing to improve code quality and catch potential errors early in the development process. Firebase provided a comprehensive backend solution, offering real-time database and authentication that simplified our development and ensured scalable infrastructure. NativeWind enabled rapid UI development with Tailwind-style styling, making our design process more consistent.

Challenges Faced

Our entire tech stack being new to us. Learning React Native, TypeScript, Firebase, and NativeWind simultaneously meant a steep learning curve that required intense collaboration and continuous learning. Maintaining consistency across our application was also particularly challenging.
