How did you find your time on the bootcamp?

My time as a student at Northcoders was by far one of the most challenging and worthwhile experiences I've had. It forced me to challenge myself in ways I wouldn't have thought possible and allowed me to reap what I thought was unachievable.

In those moments where concepts seemed completely out of grasp they helped me wrestle with the problem, turn the solution on its head and ultimately prevail

What were you doing before the bootcamp and what made you apply?

Before Northoders I was in a sales role, working towards a data analytics position. The aspect I enjoyed the most about data analytics was the problem solving and automation. After talking things through with a few developer friends I soon realised that programming was something i'd never get bored of.

What was the support like on the course?

I can't begin to describe adequately the level of support that was given by the teaching team. In those moments where concepts seemed completely out of grasp they helped me wrestle with the problem, turn the solution on its head and ultimately prevail. The level of patience, compassion and expertise of these individuals shouldn't be underestimated!

What advice would you give to anyone thinking about applying?

To anyone learning to code in their spare time i'd say keep going! It's incredibly difficult to spend time bettering yourself as an individual along side the responsibilities of day to day life, you're already achieving loads by just that alone! All i can really add is don't give up and should you get stuck, reach out to the wider community. If you're thinking of applying then decide a date and go for it. I personally spent months deliberating about applying and it was most definitely one of the best decisions I've ever made.
